Free Walking Tour Reykjavik was the first tour of its kind in Reykjavik. It has been a favorite of visitors in our city since 2012. It is run by local comedians who love their city and want you to love it too.
1 pm every day from September 1 – May 31
12 pm and 2 pm every day from June 1 – August 31
Very easy. The route is wheelchair accessible.
We start our tour every day at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM from June through August. It starts at 1:00 PM during the winter. Meet us at the green clock on Lækjartorg Square and have fun!
On our tour you will get a glimpse into the history and culture of Reykjavik and get tips on entertainment and nourishment. You’ll see the interesting and often overlooked parts of the city and get great money-saving tips. Hopefully you’ll get more bang for your Iceland buck while laughing and having a great time. Our tour departs from very center of Reykjavik, Lækjartorg Square. You will visit some of the main attractions of the city center.
Free Walking Tour Reykjavik runs every day, all year long, except on Independence day (June 17th), Culture Night (August 18th 2018) and during the Pride Parade (August 11 2018). On those days our route is blocked by celebrations.
Please feel free to join us at Lækjartorg square. There is no need to sign up, just show up and have fun. Throughout the years we have shown thousands of visitors around our beautiful city, and we are simply aching to make you laugh, tell you about the history of the city and hopefully give you tips for food and entertainment that you’ll love. Hopefully we can also save you a bit of money with our moneysaving tips.
Operating since 2012, Free Walking Tour Reykjavík is the oldest walking tour of its kind in Iceland. Our philosophy has always been to trust our visitors to pay what they can and feel our tour is worth.
The free tour runs every day at 12:00 and 14:00 from June through August, and at 13:00 from September through May. The guide shows up about 10 minutes before the start of the tour.
Join us and have fun!
Please be advised that the weather can get cold and nasty, and we make no indoor stops, so you would do well to wear too many layers rather than too few.
